Erm, I see the cover and title owes a pretty obvious debt to one Sir Richard of Thompson but I'm guessing this ain't no New St George. Did this guy play the Gong Unconvention with the Acid Mothers in the 'Dam a few years back (one of the best three nights I've ever spent)I wonder? I have the DVD of AMT's set with Daevid Allen/Gilli Smyth/Josh Pollock somewhere and will have to check out the credits once I can dig it out. Am in the middle of a huge clearout so all a bit "chwechs and saiths" at present. Which reminds me of the to correct your Welsh sometime Brutha - yours anally and insincerely, the disciple of Howell Whitehill the Cewl - as he never was and never can be.
Tsuyama is Loki to Kawabata's Thor. If the Dam gig you saw had mischief amidst the freaked out maelstrom then Mr T. was probably there. I saw him with AMT in Tokyo some 3 years back. The basement club was marginally bigger than my living-room. The volume was visceral. Have heard nothing louder. And that includes Faust with a micc'd up and buzzing chainsaw being "cut" against the edge of a fully functioning cement mixer. But that of course is another story.
(Have corrected the Welsh...though the original text was done in a wilful spirit of cack-handed irony. Clearly lost on the pedants.)
No, no, even we pedants got the irony. Thought you'd appreciate a spot of the old call and response though. Y'know, oh yes you do...oh no I don't, ac yn y blaen. Well the nights are closing in after all and the panto season will soon be upon us - though not on my watch if I can help it. Bah! Humbug! and so forth (exits through trap door).
