The Wyrd Meme - Alasdair Roberts

If anyone can lay claim to Robin Williamson's starry mantle, it's Alasdair Roberts. Breathing the same bardic air as his 60's acid folk progenitors, Roberts makes music both expansive and timeless. A compelling weave of the traditonal and innovative. And now of course, a Wire magazine cover star! Like this EP then check new album: Too Long In This Condition.

Ah. Now then. I shall give this a go. I was looking forward to finding out what all the fuss surrounding Mr. Roberts was about at this year's Green Man Festival. Now that I find myself unable to attend Weird Brother steps forward with an alternative means of introduction. Much obliged.

Thanks for the Alasdair Roberts. I haven't heard this ep before, and I am a huge fan of his Spoils album, one of my favourites from recent years.

I have a request, do you happen to have any of Daniel Patrick Quinn's albums? I'm particularly keen to hear The Winter Hills, Ridin' the Stang or Severed from the Land.

Cheers

Just bought the Winter Hills from Amazon and I'll be posting it to my blog when it arrives. If you don't find owt and are interested then check my page in about a week. In the interim his One More Grain project may be of some interest to you http://anntheword.blogspot.com/2011/05/one-more-gran-pigeon-english-isle-of.html
