The Old Fangled Tone - Robin Williamson

Wise, witty Robin Williamson with a set of traditional songs arranged for brass band recorded live at the Square Chapel, Halifax, West Yorkshire. Warm burnished tones and a garrulous performance. Who'd have thought  euphonium, tuba and cornets could sound this good?

He's still rushing around the country with guitar and harp. Check out his site for when and where http://www.pigswhiskermusic.co.uk/

WC's a big fan of this guy, which is interesting as I know he was never much into ISB. I have to admit to never having listened to any of RW's albums which is also interesting as I was/am a big ISB fan and he was always my fave one. Never seen him live either (although I once caught the excrutiating ISB 2003 featuring old Cod Calypso and two of his mates in weekend hippy gear). Will have to look out for him otherwise just like Zappa and all the other people I was gonna catch next time, there may not be a next time.
